Sponsorship Programme

RTA has set up a sponsorship programme in partnership with The Diana Award and GVI.

This year, we have decided to fund 3 Diana Award holders to participate in GVI's environmental, educational and community projects which are run internationally.

The successful applicants have to complete a rigorous application process culminating in a video blog competition which is open to public vote.

The main aims of the programme are as follows:

  • Award holders gain inspiring training opportunities
  • Volunteers gain transferable skills on GVI projects which are then implemented within UK projects / businesses
  • Projects improve the employability of volunteers for the UK market (i.e. professional qualification, specialist or transferable skills). All volunteers will complete the nationally recognised ASDAN Employability Award whilst on the projects
  • Volunteers are part of a formal application and selection process (preparation for job applications, CVs etc.)
  • Volunteers gain experience and knowledge of fundraising

Our first 3 winners have now been selected and we are proud to announce that Ned, Joshua and Saeed will shortly be embarking on some exciting trips. For more information, please visit the Diana Award website

Ned is travelling out to work in an orphanage in Kenya and will be providing us with weekly blogs. Please visit our News page for further details.

Here is his first post and a link to his winning video via the YouTube Website

"I am absolutely elated about being one of the winners for the International Internship competition, offered incredibly kindly by the Diana Award and Richard Turner & Associates Ltd. It means such a monumental amount to me that so many people took the time to vote for me and I am incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the support that I received. I am overcome with excitement to be able to travel to Kenya (somewhere that I have never been) and cannot wait to meet the children that I will be helping to teach over the 4 weeks that I'm out there. I would like to extend my congratulations to the other winners Joshua and Saeed, but also my commiserations to Rodrigo and Penny. Good luck for all your future endeavours guys."
