Richard Turner & Associates Ltd. (RTA) is a health and safety consultancy, specialising in construction. With offices in Bristol and Welwyn Garden City, we work on a wide range of commercial and public sector projects across the UK that include demolition works, new builds, major refurbishments and fit-outs, chiller and plant replacements, lift installations, roof repairs and building services installations.
We have wide-ranging experience of diverse environments that include confined spaces, sewers, construction sites, business centres, leisure centres and sports grounds, retail centres, schools and universities, factories, railways, docklands, listed buildings, high security premises, detention centres, pumping stations, IT and data centres as well as hazardous conditions (asbestos, high/low voltage).
In addition to carrying out projects tailor-made to suit the health and safety needs of organisations, the company is accomplished in providing the following services:
- Undertaking the CDM co-ordinator role in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2007
- Collating building manuals for major construction and refurbishment projects (including web-hosted solutions)
- Writing health and safety files
- Producing Building Log Books, in accordance with CIBSE TM31
- Preparing health and safety policy documents and training in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act
- Writing health and safety policies, plans and method statements
- Undertaking risk assessments
- Undertaking health and safety audits and inspections on client premises and construction sites
- Undertaking the role of independent health and safety auditor and impartial observer
- Liaising with regulatory bodies (including HSE)
- Providing health and safety guidance and support
- Providing health and safety advice to design teams
- Designing and implementing new health and safety guidance and safe working procedures
- Compiling asset registers and implementing PPM regimes
- Competency assessments of designers and contractors
- Supporting and training principal contractors and assisting in
the production and co-ordination of:
- Construction health and safety plans
- Health and safety files
- Operating and maintenance manuals
- Devising and running health and safety training courses
- Carrying out occupational health assessments and reports (including DSE assessments)
